For a long time, Libby, Abby and Jane dreamed of a garden party where dressmakers could meet in the sunshine over ribbon sandwiches and fancy frocks. In 2017, they made it happen with the inaugural Sew Melbourne Garden Party! A fabulous day to get dressed up, socialise and talk all things sewing, the Sew Melbourne Garden Party is now an annual event not to be missed.

The Sew Melbourne Garden Party is held at the Stapley Pavilion in Kings Domain, part of the Botanical Gardens precinct. Pack a picnic and your favourite rug or chair and we’ll provide the music, games and great company.

Getting There

By car: Parking is available around the gardens. Restrictions and fees may apply. You can also park at the Arts Centre or Federation Square and walk or take the tram down to the gardens.

By public transport: From the city, catch a tram down St Kilda Rd with Route numbers 3/3a, 5, 6, 8, 16, 64, 67 or 72. If that’s too hard to remember, you can take any tram except Route 1. Hop off at Stop 17 (Grant st). (Left map pointer). Walk up to the pavilion (5 min walk – right most map pointer.)

There are public toilets located close by.
